Social Solutions Global, the leading cloud software provider for nonprofit and public sector social service organizations, announced that Tjada D’Oyen McKenna, a prominent leader in the nonprofit sector, has been named to Social Solution’s board of directors. McKenna brings a passion for innovation and decades of experience driving successful humanitarian efforts at a global scale that will be a valued asset in supporting Social Solutions’ mission to help social good organizations leverage data and technology to drive lasting social change.
Currently CEO at the global non-governmental, humanitarian-focused organization, Mercy Corps, McKenna leads a global team in over 40 countries. The organization reaches more than 29 million people annually, working with local changemakers, global innovators and people most affected by crises, to help fragile communities break the cycle of poverty, rebuild after disaster and forge new paths to prosperity in the face of injustice, instability and climate change.
Prior to Mercy Corps, McKenna served as Chief Operating Office for two international nonprofit agencies, CARE and Habitat for Humanity International. McKenna also spent more than a decade in roles with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the U.S. government, specializing in food security and working to end world hunger. McKenna has served on both national and local nonprofit boards and began her career in the corporate sector in various roles at McKinsey & Company, American Express and GE. She earned a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
“I’m truly honored to have Tjada join our board of directors. She’s a luminary in the nonprofit industry and a powerhouse in driving humanitarian efforts that create transformational change at a global scale,” said Erin Mulligan Nelson, CEO of Social Solutions. “Tjada brings a unique voice and perspective to our board, and her passion for innovation aligns beautifully with Social Solutions’ mission to leverage technology and data to enable communities to create lasting social change. “Social Solutions’ forward-thinking strategy and software technology is making a real difference for social good organizations, helping them not only collaborate and operate successfully in times of uncertainty, but ensure they can continue to provide the necessary services to people in need across communities, particularly where the demand continues to grow,” said Tjada D’Oyen McKenna. “The human services sector can benefit tremendously by leveraging data and technology. I look forward to helping guide Social Solutions’ visionary leadership team and passionate workforce to ensure we stay ahead of the curve and continue to innovate so we can help human services organizations serve even more people across more communities.”
McKenna was sourced through Vista Equity Partner’s independent board program, which leverages the firm’s network to source qualified board candidates for its portfolio companies. Social Solutions is a newly-certified Public Benefit Corporation that legally demonstrates corporate commitment to driving lasting social change internally and externally. Additionally, Social Solutions launched a new Impact Partners initiative focused on raising money for nonprofits to adopt technology and data that accelerates outcomes. Finally, a new visual identity and brand articulate the company’s purpose of providing insights and technology solutions to support clients’ missions.
